Three Draft prospects who would make sense for each team:
With the Draft just three days from now I want to take a look at three possible players each time could target with their first pick. There’s no guarantee those guys will be available, but if they are I see a good chance for each team to take either one of them. Certainly Draft day trades and surprise picks can change the complexity of the entire process, but still there are a few prospects out there I assume are high on the respective team’s big boards.
Top 100 prospects in the NFL Draft:
With just over two weeks until the Draft I decided to put together a part of my draft board. Like every team’s scouting department I listed my top prospects regardless of position. Usually the next step would be to look at my team’s needs and who could fill them. But when you think of the best teams in the league they are smart enough to only look at the holes on their roster secondly and take the best player available. To me the best general manager to do so is the Baltimore Ravens’ Ozzie Newsome. I didn’t go through all the players available, but with a hundred of them listed I at least have myself covered for the first three rounds.
Under-the-radar players in this year’s Draft
I already talked about my top ten prospects for each position on offense and defense, so I decided to take a look at some players who might not be on everybody’s radar, but whom we should really keep an eye on. Of the twelve names mentioned you probably won’t hear any called before the third day of the Draft, but they could become impact players at some point.
Top 10 players by position in the NFL Draft – Defense:
Finally, after watching lots and lots of tape to analyze the players, I finished my list of the top ten guys for each position with the defensive prospects. Once again, this is not just a ranking of how good these players are right now, but who they can become. Here is my list of the top ten offensive guys.
Let’s get right into it:
Top 10 players by position in the NFL Draft – Offense:
Now that players should their athletic abilities at the Scouting Combine and with pro days already running I decided to list my top ten prospects in the draft for each position. This is based on who I think these players can become and not just the top guys right now from one to ten. Each of them can still boost their draft stock with good individual workouts. Today I’m taking a look at the offensive players. Here they are:
Who helped himself the most at the NFL Scouting Combine:
With the Senior Bowl and all other games in the books scouts made their way to Indianapolis to see the athleticism of all the prospects. A couple of standouts left impressions on visitors while others failed to impress. Here are my top 10 players to improve their draft stock during the weekend plus a summary of the Combine (This isn’t any particular ranking):
Biggest offseason priorities for each NFL team: AFC edition
In addition to my piece on the NFC here is my segment on all 16 AFC teams. Once again this is what I think teams should do to improve from where they were last year with a couple of names being real possibilities to bring in via the draft or free agency. They might not be available and they aren’t just the best guys out there, but rather what would make sense to me. And it’s about what should be on top of their list for this offseason.
Here it is:
Biggest offseason priorities for each NFL team: NFC edition
In this segment I want to take a look at each team individually and what I think will be most important things they’ll need to do to improve their team. Some already have the pieces in place and should only make sure they keep them and add depth to their roster, while others have needs at specific positions they should fill. For each position of need I listed the players who I think would help them the most and who are real possibilities, teams could add via the draft or free agency. So those aren’t simply the best guys available. And some of the free agents may not be available since they agree on contracts with the team they’re already on.
Here are all 16 NFC teams:
Why Le’Veon Bell is the best running back in the NFL right now:
Le’Veon Bell racked up 2215 yards from scrimmage this year which ranks him second among all players only behind DeMarco Murray from the Cowboys. He also was a big reason the Steelers won their division this year for the first time since 2010. To me he is the best overall-running back in the league at this point. The following should tell you why he’s so good.
