NFC North Draft & Roster Review 2024

Now that we’ve arrived at what I consider the actual “off”season, it’s time to bring back my divisional draft rankings series!

Over the next month, I’ll be taking a look at all 32 NFL franchises, going division-by-division, alternating between NFC and AFC. I’ll deliver quick scouting reports on every single player they drafted, discussing the state of the team’s roster and how these new additions fit in, trying to understand what their roles may look like.

And we’re starting things off with the NFC North!

Why did this happen?

The 15 minutes that cost the Lions a trip to Super Bowl LVIII

The two teams facing off in Super Bowl 58 are now set, but before we move on to discussing that matchup, I felt that it was necessary to break down why the Lions couldn’t advance past the 49ers.

It’s certainly not simply based on a couple of aggressive fourth-down decisions by their head coach, which was actually a big factor in them even making it to the championship game, but rather a 15-minute stretch where everything went wrong for them!

NFL All-Rookie team 2023/24:

The regular season has come to a close and after 17 games, it’s time to talk about what players were able to show in their first years as pros. Therefore, I put together my annual NFL All-Rookie team, consisting of a starting lineup on offense and defense, along with six “key backups”.

Just like the All-Pro teams this year, I decided to add a 12th spot to offense and defense, along with the classic four special-teamers. However, I took a little more freedom with that, since only two rookie fullbacks saw extended run (Cowboys’ Hunter Luepke and Saints’ Adam Prentice) and I thought there were more deserving players along the defensive front than an additional slot defender, since I already went with nickel personnel.

The early Sunday slate of week seven was highlighted by a highly-anticipated inter-conference matchup between the Lions and Ravens. However, Baltimore took control right now and turned this into a 38-6 beatdown.

Kicking off our four weeks of the divisional draft breakdown series today is the NFC North!

We’ll go through every single pick of all 32 teams, give a quick scouting report on each players, talk about their fit on the roster, the draft class as a whole and then finish by comparing what those four teams inside the division were able to accomplish!
