Mid-2025 NFL season awards:

With the NFL having adopted an 18-week format, this marks the exact midpoint of this season, and it’s time to hand out awards. I will go through each of them, presenting my top three candidates, before I finish up with my All-Pro teams.

Compared to my full-season predictions back in late August, there are no projections to these nominations, but rather just how I would vote for each award if the season ended today. So you will see some players show up, who won’t actually win any of these awards or be named All-Pro most likely because they’re currently injured and will miss the rest of the year in some cases.

Let’s get into them:

Mid-season NFL awards (2024):

We’ve arrived at the mid-way point of the 2024 NFL season. Unlike most people, who still use week eight as the timestamp for that description, I think it should be pretty clear now that this is actually the exact moment to reflect with half of the 18 weeks down. Of course, only about half the league has had their bye weeks so far, so I will use per-game statistics rather than bring up total numbers for the most part, in order to be able to compare players more practically.

Just like I did in my full-season predictions, I’ll lay out the case for the top three candidates for each major AP NFL award. Then I also added my first- and second-team All-Pro teams if the year ended today, without further comment, since I will have discussed a large portion of the players listed and it would exceed the breadth of the exercise. Unfortunately, I had to exclude names like Aidan Hutchinson and Chris Godwin due to injuries.

Mid-season NFL awards (2023):

While the 17-game schedule for each team has thrown off where exactly the mid-way point of the NFL season is, we are through nine of 18 total weeks and we’ve played exactly half of the 272 contests (136). So at this point, it’s time to summarize what has happened here a little bit and hand out all the major awards as if the season ended today.

I’ll once again break down the top three candidates through half of 2023, making my case for each of them, based on watching the tape and looking at the numbers, along with reflecting a little bit on what I predicted just before we kicked off the year. A quick note on that – I could have literally used the cover photo from back then.

Mid-2022 NFL season awards:

After the first quarter of the season, we put together a power ranking of all 32 NFL teams. So once again, it felt appropriate to revisit my predictions for all the major awards and give you my top three names for each of them, as we’ve finished up the first half of the year now. Some of those I still look in very much the same way, while the rookies and coaches particularly are quite different than I expected

With the NFL adding a 17th game last season and therefore an 18th week, now the mid-way point has moved to past week nine. That means some of the players listed here have already played in each of those weeks, while others have only had the chance to participate in eight contests. Due to that, I will use per-game stats more frequently than totals, in order to allow us to make easier comparisons between names.

Here’s who I’d give each award if the season ended today:

Mid-season NFL awards:

We have reached the halfway mark of the 2018 NFL season and we have seen a ton of different action. There have had positive surprises, such as the emergences of guys like James Conner and some of the game’s biggest stars returning from injury, disappointing teams like the Raiders and Giants as well as those up-and-down rides we have watched in Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Browns. With that being said, there have been some players, coaches and teams that have really stood out so far and it’s time to point out the most apparent ones, by telling you who I think should win the major NFL awards if the season ended today.
